Lioda & Melvin's Wedding (29 November 2008)

The long awaited wedding of Lioda and Melvin took place in Manila. Yes, another destination wedding for us to attend! Unlike previous weddings, I didn't take quite as many photos. One reason is that Lioda is like a sister I never had and watching her get married was cool to watch. Second, I want to enjoy the celebration without being behind the lens this one time!

The wedding took place at Santuario de San Jose in the exclusive subdivision of East Greenhills.

The reception was held at Oasis Manila with dinner, desserts, a live band and dancing under a starry night.

Sharon & Bobby's Wedding (4 May 2008)

We traveled to the Philippines for Sharon & Bobby's wedding. Shooting a wedding overseas is fun! You never know what to expect in unfamiliar territory. Sharon & Bobby's wedding was set on a picturesque church in Nasugbu, Batangas. One entrance that I think only the guests knew about is three steep flights up. A bit of work to climb, but once you get to the top you see a quaint and beautiful church flanked by panoramic views.

As for the reception, it was equally picturesque. As you entered the grounds of Hill Creek Gardens, you see a line of ornately decorated tables and tents to keep any rain away. The day before and the day of their wedding it had rained hard but through God's graces, He gave a momentary pause for the afternoon wedding and celebration that followed. If you walk to the small grassy field, you can see a chapel tucked away in the corner surrounded by a pond and beautiful garden of flowers. I have to admit my favorite had to be the food especially the lengguwahe!

Congratulations Bobby and Sharon!

Having attended the fun wedding of MJ & Peter, we're now in the process of selecting final photos for them. Here's a sample of what we've been working on:

MJ & Peter (7 Sept. 2007)

Noerenberg Memorial Gardens is the ideal venue for outdoor weddings. Once the property of Grain Belt Brewery's founder, Fredrick Noerenberg, it was later bequeathed to Three Rivers Park District. Today, his property is adorned with myriads of flowers and white columns mark the spot to the Noerenberg home.

But enough history! Noerenberg was also a perfect venue for an engagement photo session of MJ & Peter. They were such a delight to photograph that they needed little to no direction from myself. I just told them to do their thing and away I clicked!

Their wedding is in a couple of weeks at St. John's the Baptist in Excelsior with their reception to follow at Lafayette Club in Minnetonka.

Here's a few of my favorite photos from this session:

Andy & Maggie (2 Sept. 2007)

My first outdoor courtyard wedding. Maggie and Andy exchanged vows just outside Accenture Tower, in Minneapolis' CBD. Maggie was such a photogenic bride, the principal photographer and I wished we had more time to take photos of her and of course of her husband-to-be!

This wedding has many firsts. One, it's my first wedding stateside. Second, my first Chinese wedding. Third, my first outdoor wedding (which I already mentioned). And lastly, my first wedding where at least a half dozen of the guests were toting dSLRs!

Maggie and Andy were a delight and we wish them the best in the future!
